How much adhesive for parquet and vinyl: coverage table

Adhesive consumption depends on the flooring, adhesive type and notched trowel. Parquet needs the most – 0.7–1.5 kg/m²; vinyl needs 0.12–0.58 kg/m². Below are WAKOL coverage figures from the manufacturer and examples of how many packs your area needs.

Parquet adhesives: coverage and prices

Example: 30 m² of engineered boards with WAKOL MS 260 – 21–45 kg, i.e. 2–3 pails of 18 kg (€366–549). Wide, long boards and a less even subfloor push it towards the upper end.

Vinyl adhesives: coverage and prices

Example: 20 m² of glue-down LVT with WAKOL D 3318 – about 6 kg, one 6 kg pack (€66).

Primer and levelling compound

Adhesive only holds on a prepared subfloor, so count the primer too:

• WAKOL D 3055 – 100–150 g/m²; 10 kg covers 66–100 m².
• WAKOL D 3004 – 80–120 g/m².
• WAKOL PU 280 – 100–150 g/m² as a primer, 250–350 g/m² as a moisture barrier.
• WAKOL Z 680 levelling compound – about 1.5 kg/m² per 1 mm of thickness.

What affects consumption

1. Trowel. Parquet usually takes TKB B11–B15, vinyl TKB A1–A2. Bigger notches use more adhesive.
2. Board size. Wider, longer boards need more adhesive for full contact.
3. Subfloor. An uneven subfloor uses more adhesive, so level it first.

How to calculate

Area m² × coverage kg/m² + 5–10 % reserve. For example, 25 m² × 1.0 kg/m² = 25 kg + 10 % = 27.5 kg → two 18 kg pails.
