Adhesive is chosen by two things, not by price: what covering is being bonded and what substrate lies underneath. Get either wrong and you end up with squeaking, boards letting go, or a covering lifted by moisture.
For wood floors use elastic silane and polyurethane adhesives (Bona R848, WAKOL MS 260, WAKOL PU 215). An elastic bond line lets the timber move as humidity changes and damps footfall noise — which is also why these are the adhesives used over underfloor heating. For vinyl, LVT and SPC the range is dispersion adhesives (WAKOL D 3125, D 3330, D 3360): they hold a thin resilient covering but are not meant for solid timber.
Primer is not optional. A new or dusty cement screed absorbs adhesive and weakens the bond, so it is primed first (WAKOL D 3055). Where residual moisture has to be sealed off, the polyurethane primer WAKOL PU 280 is used.
