Choosing a sports floor

International certification
BOEN sports floors are manufactured in Europe. They are tested against five criteria — shock absorption, vertical deformation, surface friction, ball bounce and rolling load — and comply with the European standard EN 14904. This means international sporting events can be held on courts laid with BOEN Sport flooring.
BOEN and FIBA (the International Basketball Federation)
All BOEN Sport floors have been tested and approved by the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre (FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre). The certificate means that BOEN Sport quality is recognised by 215 national basketball federations worldwide and by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
BOEN and the World Squash Federation
BOEN squash floors have been accredited by the World Squash Federation. Built to a special technology, BOEN Sport squash floors are tested to DIN 18032-2. A friction coefficient of 0.59 meets players' requirements.

ACTIFLEX

When the main criteria are flexibility and comfort, and the floor needs to be refreshed as quickly as possible , Actiflex is what you need. It is a resilient floor: a layer of rigid foam provides excellent cushioning and shock absorption.
The BOEN X-press locking technology allows the floor to be installed quickly and securely without special tools. Actiflex can be extended quickly and, if necessary, dismantled and laid elsewhere. That makes it ideal for fitness rooms, dance studios and private home gyms.
In the 215 x 2200 mm format, Actiflex can be produced in a wide spectrum of colours to create a visually calm and comfortable atmosphere — in hotels, spa salons and wellness centres, for example.
Actiflex is installed over a level subfloor or over an existing floor.

BOFLEX

Premium-class sports flooring with progressive shock absorption for heavy loads. Boflex sports floors are a unique combination of a material with integrated shock absorption and a construction able to withstand almost unlimited loads . A floor system like this is ideal for multi-purpose sports courts (a school sports hall, for example) and for large arenas. Its performance, firmness and grip suit adults and children equally. Even after 20 years in service, BOEN sports floors retain all their properties.
According to test results from SINTEF (formerly the Norwegian Building Research Institute), Boflex floors outperform all competitors and deliver excellent performance that protects the joints of children and adults from the effects of impact loads.
Its exceptionally low height makes this floor well suited to sports hall refurbishment projects. It is compatible with underfloor heating, withstands rolling loads and can have either a wood or a resilient surface (Boflex Champion).
According to the same tests, the special foam base, whose compression never exceeds 50%, allows the system to withstand practically unlimited loads.

ARENAFLEX

Arenaflex flooring is designed for spaces with differing construction heights and an uneven subfloor. These resilient sports floors combine firmness and comfort, which makes them universal for sports halls and large arenas.
Arenaflex Elevation System is a hard-wearing wooden floor installed on a very strong support system. Insulation and underfloor heating systems can be used with it without difficulty.
Arenaflex suits both new construction and renovation or repair, since no levelling layer is needed, which considerably shortens installation time. Easy to use and to transport, the Arenaflex system is supplied in a convenient fixed format.
Arenaflex Flexbat System floor height 69–81 mm (Arenaflex Flexbat Stadium) or 67–79 mm (Arenaflex Flexbat Olympia). Arenaflex Stadium or Olympia boards are laid on BOEN Flexbat Battens — battens with rubber pads that provide the deformation and cushioning required to meet the EN 14904 standard.
ELASTFLEX

Elastflex is a semi-resilient floor for universal use. Its resilient layer and plywood load-distribution layer make it an ideal solution for arenas and courts of several thousand square metres.
Elastflex keeps the construction height of the floor low. Depending on your needs, you can choose the thickness of the top layer. This floor absorbs sound very well. Elastflex offers a wide choice of colours, and in the Champion version it can be finished with different resilient surfaces.

SINGLEFLEX

When floors of differing heights need to be levelled, Singleflex is an excellent solution. It is designed specifically for floors with differing construction heights and uneven subfloors. A wide choice of colours ensures a combination of function and good looks.
Singleflex is a sports floor system with a beautiful natural hardwood top layer. In the Athletic version, the top layer can be a resilient surface.
Singleflex meets World Squash Federation requirements and is perfectly suited to squash courts. A hardwood floor system provides a combination of firmness and grip that helps reduce the load on athletes' bodies.
Surfaces
BOEN Sport floors can have a wood or a resilient top layer.
Oak, ash, beech or maple is used for the wooden top layer.
Top layer finishing
- T79 sports lacquer with a formula that makes applying additional protective coats easy.
- Squash finish — a factory-applied textured surface used on all Stadium systems in oak, ash and beech. One primer coat and two topcoats with a 60 texture for the optimum grip required for squash.
