Live Pure and Live Matt Plus are BOEN lacquer finishes with a very matt, natural appearance. They preserve the feel of natural wood while protecting its surface.
For proper care, it is important to use products made specifically for these finishes.
Check your finish type
The most reliable way is to check the finish name on your invoice or floor documents. Look for Live Pure or Live Matt Plus.
Do not try to identify the finish by appearance alone: Live Pure is specifically designed so that the lacquer is barely visible.
Not sure? Send us the decor name or a photo of the floor.
Care calendar
How often the floor needs treatment depends on the intensity of use and the condition of the surface — go by how the floor looks, not by a fixed calendar interval. In residential rooms, periodic care is rarely needed.
| How often | What to do | Product |
|---|---|---|
| Daily or as needed | Vacuum with a suitable nozzle or use a dry mop | — |
| Damp cleaning — as needed, usually 1–2 times a week | A well-wrung mop: no water should remain on the surface after cleaning. Dilute the product following the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging | BOEN Parquet Cleaner |
| When the most-used areas start to look different from the rest of the surface | Apply to a cleaned floor following the manufacturer's instructions. Restores an even ultra-matt appearance | BOEN Polish Live Pure / Live Matt Plus |
Wipe up spills as quickly as possible.
Live Pure and Live Matt Plus need neither oil nor an initial treatment after installation — the finish is fully factory-finished.

What to do about scratches
For a number of Live Pure decors, BOEN offers a touch-up lacquer in a bottle with a brush (28 ml) — for small local damage to the finish. Bottles are made for specific decors: Oak, Oak White, Warm Cotton, Horizon, Warm Grey, Walnut and others.
For more serious damage — the Live Pure repair kit or professional local repair.
It is important to identify the decor and finish correctly. Also bear in mind that natural wood changes shade over time under the influence of light, so even a correctly chosen product may look slightly different on an older floor.
If in doubt, send a photo of the damage first.
What to avoid
Steam cleaner. Do not use a steam cleaner. High temperature and moisture can damage the wood, the finish and the joints between boards.
Large amounts of water. Only a well-wrung mop. Do not leave water on the surface; wipe up spills straight away.
Oils and products for oiled floors. Live Pure and Live Matt Plus are lacquer finishes. Do not use Floor Soap, Natural Oil, Oil Freshen Up or other oiled-wood products on them: they are not intended for this finish type and may change the appearance of the surface or leave marks.
Unsuitable polishes. For periodic care, use only the product made for Live Pure / Live Matt Plus. An unsuitable product may change the appearance and sheen of the surface.
Abrasive and aggressive products. Scouring powders, hard scouring pads and aggressive household chemicals not intended for lacquered wooden floors can leave micro-scratches and marks.
Unprotected furniture legs. Clean felt pads under all furniture; a protective mat under chairs with castors.
Frequently asked questions
Is it true that Live Pure needs almost no maintenance?
Live Pure does not need oil treatments like an oiled surface, but it still needs regular cleaning and protection from sand, water and mechanical damage. When needed, the surface is renewed with the dedicated Live Pure product.
Does the wood change colour in sunlight?
Yes. Wood is a natural material, and its shade changes over time under the influence of light. How much depends on the wood species, the finish and the lighting. For this reason, areas under rugs or permanently placed furniture may in time differ from the open areas of the floor.
What should I do about a scratch on Live Pure?
It depends on the depth. For small damage to the finish, you can use the touch-up lacquer matched to the relevant decor. A deeper scratch, a chip or damage to the wood may need a different repair method. Send a close-up photo — we will help choose the right option.
I have Live Matt without Plus. Does this guide apply?
The regular cleaning principles are similar, but the periodic care products are different. If your documents say Live Matt, use the separate guide.
Need help?
Send a photo of the floor and the decor name. For damage, also send a separate close-up photo.
