How to oil parquet: steps, coverage and aftercare
Oiled parquet looks natural and feels warm, and a damaged spot can be refreshed without sanding the whole room. LOBA oils go on with a roller or trowel: 2K ImpactOil in one coat (30–60 g/m²), HardwaxOil in two (40–60 ml/m² each).
1. Sand and vacuum
Sand in several passes from coarse to fine abrasive until the wood is clean and even. Vacuum thoroughly: the oil soaks into the wood, so any dust would stay under it.

3. Apply the oil
- 2K ImpactOil: mix with the hardener and apply one coat with a roller at 30–60 g/m². Immediately level with a single-disc machine and a beige LOBA pad and remove all excess oil. Trowel application only on floors with tight joints.
- HardwaxOil: apply twice at 40–60 ml/m² by roller or about 20 ml/m² by trowel. Recoat within 24 h; later only after intermediate sanding.

4. Let it dry

5. Aftercare
When the oiled surface turns dull and greyish, refresh it with LOBA ParkettOil (1 L – €34, 10–30 ml/m²) – no sanding needed. More in Oiled parquet care.
Example – 25 m²: 2K ImpactOil 2.5 kg covers 40–80 m², one pack (€239). HardwaxOil in two coats – 2–3 L: 2.5 L (€124), plus 0.75 L (€48) if needed.
