BOEN Longstrip — three-strip engineered flooring

Longstrip is a three-strip engineered board, 215 mm wide and 2200 mm long. The top layer is assembled from three narrow oak strips, giving the classic fine parquet pattern while installing in large elements — faster and cheaper than true parquet.

It is the most rational way into a real wood floor: prices start at €40/m², and the surface is the same oak as in the more expensive formats.

Two thicknesses are available. 14 mm — full thickness with a thicker wear layer; the floor can be renewed by sanding. 13,2 mm — thinner and more economical, conducts heat better, suited to underfloor heating and to renovations where raising the floor level is undesirable.

How a three-strip board is built

Format 215 × 2200 mm. The top layer is assembled from three narrow oak strips laid along the board. The result is the classic fine parquet pattern, installed in large elements — faster and cheaper than true parquet.

The timber is the same as in the single-strip collections. What differs is how the surface reads: instead of one wide field of grain, three narrower ones, each with its own figure.

Two thicknesses in one collection

14 mm — full thickness with a thicker wear layer. The floor can be renewed by sanding; suited to larger areas and less even subfloors.

13,2 mm — thinner and more economical. It conducts heat better, making it the more rational choice over underfloor heating, and raises the floor level less in a renovation.

Where Longstrip fits best

The finer three-strip pattern reads calmly in smaller rooms and competes less with furniture and textiles. Where the floor should be a background rather than a feature, that is an advantage, not a compromise.

Installation

Both thicknesses use 5G Click locking — floating over underlay, or glued down to the subfloor. Suitable for underfloor heating: subfloor up to 29 °C, room 18–21 °C, relative humidity 30–65 %.

Frequently asked questions

Can a three-strip board be sanded?

Yes. The top layer is real timber, not a printed film. In the 14 mm version its thickness allows at least one sanding, usually two.

How does Longstrip differ from laminate?

In essentially every respect. Laminate is an HDF board with a printed pattern; it cannot be sanded and the whole floor is replaced once worn. Longstrip is real oak — renewable and lasting decades.

Why is Longstrip cheaper than a single-strip board?

Because three narrow strips can be cut from timber that would not yield a wide continuous board. Raw material is used more efficiently, and that is where the lower price comes from — not from lower quality.

Are the joints between strips visible?

They read as a natural parquet pattern, not as grooves: the surface is flush, with no bevels between strips.

What should I choose for an uninterrupted grain pattern?

Plank 138 or Plank 181 — single-strip boards where the whole board is one continuous piece of oak.
